Sleepin' hard or hardly sleepin'

The day Nate and I bought a swing it changed my(our)life forever. I was not getting any sleep. Campbell was not sleeping very good at all. I remember the first time we put her in it. She was asleep in 10 seconds or less...no joke. She slept in it for naps and bedtime for about 2 weeks. I decided it probably wasn't the best thing to do but I wasn't willing to go cold turkey on our swing. So...she napped in it and I would swing her to sleep every night until I was confident she was out for the night. I would then very carefully move her to the bassinet. This was a good plan and it worked well. Last month I new it was time to give up the swing. Nothing happened I just felt like I wanted to break this habit before C became a toddler. Oh and batteries aren't cheap. I'm convinced that Fisher-Price secretly owns Duracel and Energizer. I haven't used batteries since ghetto blasters went out of style and everything that makes noise from Fish-P takes batteries. It's a conspiracy...I think. Back to my really interesting swing story. So, yeah...it was a rough night but I just laid her in the bassinet and left the room. She cried for a good hour. After that, I never looked back. Our next little issue was the bassinet. I have a pack'n play but I just hated hunching over to pick her up so she remained in the bassinet. The funny thing about bassinets is that there not very big. C was starting to make a C shape in the bassinet. That kind of clued me in that it was time for another upgrade. So...we bought a crib...finally. So, cool story, eh? Sorry but I wanted to document this little slice of Campbell history. Sweet dreams.

What a big girl!! That is a big moment moving a sweet little baby into a big crib. Kind of scary for you and her. I'm glad to hear all is going well with the new sleeping habits. I agree with Carly I would like a pic!! Perhaps of you sleeping.

Wow, you're really going places! Sometimes I wish Levi had a magical item that zoomed him right to sleep, but he doesn't. One of these days when I'm lounging at Jan's, I'll have to come down and check out the crib (pronounced gangsta-like Missy would do)!

Jackson took naps in a swing until he was almost a year. How embarrassing! I was afraid he was going to break it any day. I was starting to wonder if they made toddler swings. Way to go on the upgrade. You are light years ahead of me.
