Packing on the Lbs.

This morning I woke up around 5:30 to feed Campbell. I went to put her on my shoulder to burp her and I thought "wow she is getting heavy." I know she is growing but it seems like a really slow process. She has been able to wear her clothes alot because she doesn't grow out of them quickly. Other people have told me she is growing but I just haven't been able to see it. C is almost 5 months old and today is the first time I've really noticed a big difference. Later in the afternoon I was playing with C on the carpet and Nate walked by and said "she is getting so big." I just thought it was interesting that we both had the same observation today.

Just "Touching Base"

Some time ago my friend Megan and I decided that the phrase "just wanted to touch base" was pretty hilarious. Meg is pretty funny so I'm sure it was the way that she delivered it that made us think it was particularly comical. Any who...I just wanted to "touch base" with my blog. I was trying to remember what I did last Valentines day and it was a struggle so I figured I better jot down V-day '08.
My contribution to the holiday consisted of a homemade card and a heart decorated wall next to Nate's computer. I tried to make it funny. It's always kind of sad when I have to point out my humorous efforts to Nate. For example, I stapled a red construction paper heart to the seat on his computer chair. It said "The Hot Seat" in black magic marker. He said "did you write that because I am usually in trouble when I'm sitting here?" "Ummm no, I meant it like, you know your cute." Ahh..forget it. I guess I'm not as funny as I think I am. Eh, what da ya do?
We started out the day with a nice breakfast and then we had a card exchange. Nate gave me a birthday card that he converted into a V-day card. He said all the cards were pretty cheesy so it left him no choice. I loved it! It was very clever. Later in the day we went to the Olive Garden to eat and then we decided to spend the evening at home with our infant child. Valentines of '08 didn't involve a carriage ride around temple square or a rose trail leading to a diamond pile but it was just the way I like it...low-key.

P.S. As I was writing this Nate yelled from the other room "honey you might have married a nerd but at least you didn't marry a dork." Love that guy.

I'm helping him out this year

I've realized and come to grips with the fact that Nate doesn't really care for Valentines day. Truthfully, it's not my favorite holiday either but I still think we have to acknowledge the day. This year I decided to help Nate out. I left the following note where he could see it.

Valentines Day Expectations
1. Shave
2. Love note (3 sentence requirement)
3. Fountain drink & chocolate object
4. Help with Campbell

This really will make me the happiest gal on February 14th.

Side note: A lady in Nate's art class calls him grizzly. He thought it was because his beanie has a bear on it. I guess the lady laughed because she didn't notice the bear. She was referring to his scruffieness. He tells me he doesn't shave so he can keep the chicks away. Thanks babe!

My Snow Post!

I just realized I haven't posted anything in regards to all this dang snow. I was at my parents the other day with my camera and it died after I took one picture. Here it is. Since I am doing this blog to keep a journal I figure I better not forget to mention this crazy winter. I have been a little sheltered so far. I mean that literally. I haven't had to clean my car off yet because it's just been in the garage. I don't want Campbell to get sick and I really don't have anywhere to go so I just stay at home. It seems like whenever I am ready to come out of hiding another snow storm hits. I did make it to SLC the other day to check out Steve and Barry's. They were getting rid of all their winter stuff so everything was $8.98. Not too shabby. That's all folks.
