It just wouldn't be Christmas without...Wham!

This song/video holds a special place in my heart. My old roommate introduced it to me. I own it on VHS if anyone wants to borrow it.
It's pretty hilarious don't you think?
I love...
-The 80's hair and fashion
-The bad acting
-George Michael's coat with the fur trimmed hood.
-George Michael frolicking in the snow.
-The rhinestone pin that is obviously a touchy subject.

Soul Searchin'

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to my friend Melissa about being a mom and some of my struggles. She recommended I read a talk given by Jeffrey R. Holland regarding young mothers. I just read it the other night and it really put things into perspective. The title of the talk is "Because she is a mother." I found it on the church website. I am going to print it off and keep it in a place where I can reach for it often. I just love my little daughter and this talk made me love her even more...if that's possible.

I don't want to look homeless

So...I just finished curling my hair. It is almost 1:00am. I have my reasons. My sweet daughter is asleep right now but she should be waking up soon. Once she is awake she will not go back to sleep until about 4:00am. She usually sleeps until 7:30am and then she will be awake until about 2:00pm. So...if I don't curl my hair now it might never escape the elastic band that is usually holding it together. I start sleeping when Campbells 4am shift starts. I then awake 3½ hours later and don't get another chance to sleep until 2pm. There is a window of opportunity to leave the house but I never do because when I could get ready I would much rather sleep. I have a problem going out in public if I look like a homeless person. I know it seems vain but this after prego body doesn't do anything for my self-esteem. This is probably hard to follow so you don't need to try. The moral of the story is that if I do my hair now there is a good chance I will get out of this dark basement. I miss the sun.
P.S. I googled homeless person so I could add a picture to this post. This guy was in the mix. I shouldn't find humor in homelessness but what the....

Working the graveyard shift...

Let me tell you, if I get to bed by 3:00am...it's a good night. For about a week now Campbell has been very awake between the hours of 11pm and 6am. Since the day she was born her sleep has been very unpredictable but this new schedule has kept up for a week. I am averaging 4 to 6 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period. That really isn't too bad considering I have an infant. I am looking forward to the day when I can sleep when the majority of people in the United States are sleeping. If things don't change I could always get a job as a taxi cab driver. I could take her with me on the road. This is fresh on my mind because I saw taxi cab confessions on tv the other night at like 2am.
On the bright side Campbell is beginning to smile and coo a lot more. I really am adoring this baby and wouldn't trade her for anything...not even a good nights sleep.
